High Stakes Online Poker Updates
Phil Ivey – Isaac Haxton – Viktor Blom

The action on the high stakes online poker tables is always interesting to follow and while the attention can sometimes change to other elements in the industry, the cards are constantly hitting the tables. Over the past couple of weeks, there have been some very interesting changes in the rankings for this year’s biggest winners. Last week, it was “Rhje” who stole the spotlight from the big regulars on Full Tilt Poker and walked away with over one million dollars in profits over seven days.

This week, the big pots didn’t slow down at all and the mystery player added another $474,483 to his account, an amount he grinded out over 2,918 hands spread across 21 sessions. However, this time he was no longer the bigger winner of the week; that distinction went to Ben “Bttech86” Tollerene, who won $544,972.

There are also other winners this week as “proudlikeagoat” won $374,757 across 1,463 hands and “punting-penddler” got a nice boost to his bankroll worth $344,660 from 2,160 hands. However, the surprising name on the winning list was Gus Hansen, who won $271,951 after having a pretty difficult time this year over the internet. Viktor “Isildur1” Blom kept his name on the winner’s list but only managed to cash in $184,467, a much smaller amount that the millions he is used to and the huge swings he plays through every week.

Since this is poker and the money has to come from somewhere, the other side of list can be just as impressive and Isaac “luvtheWNBA” Haxton finished the week as the biggest loser with $964,478 lost at the tables over 1,243 hands. “O Fortuna PLS” is also down $617,708 from the 3,105 hands he played this week so are other several players.

As far as single day winnings go, “Trueteller” flexed his muscle on Thursday, August 8, and walked away with over $630k. He got the money by playing no limit hold’em on Full Tilt Poker and kicked off what was about the become the most profitable hot streak of the day by taking on “samrostan” and winning $68,000 from him over three and a half hours. He then went on to play at four tables with some of the best players in the game right now and was up another $346,000 at the end of the session. Included in that was the biggest pot of the day worth over $200k, which he won with an Ace-high flush against a pair of sevens showed by “Punting-peddler”.

Current Year Ranking

The biggest winner of the year so far is Kyle “cottonseed1” Hendon, who started making headlines earlier this year and steadily continued his ascent to the top of the list. He has $3,597,387 in total profits so far and played 229 sessions for a total of 37,693 hands.

Second on the list is the most popular high stakes online poker player, Viktor “Isildur1” Blom, who was the bigger winner for the first half of the year and is now right on track of reclaiming that spot. He is up $3,546,981 and played 2,642 sessions for 263,933 hands so far this year.

Bttech86 is third on the list, trailing by more than half a million. This may seem a lot to most people but for these high stakes players, it can all come down to one day where they skyrocket to the top of the ranking.

Despite his good few days on Full Tilt Poker lately, Gus Hansen is still the year’s biggest loser and has $3,606,576 to go in order to get out of the red for this year. Phil “Polarizing” Ivey has also had a bad year playing online poker, being third on the biggest losers list and down almost three million dollars.
